I was bored so I just thought up this random question _________________ "They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them." |

Not really, even in 3rd world countries they would come up with a logical explanation for why this kid was claiming to be the son of God.

David Blayne did some nifty party tricks too. _________________ “When I am fighting I am keeping my mind empty for any expectations. I am waiting for something unique, completely new.”

Well, if Jesus was born into a third world country and there was no asshole like Saul of Taursus to develop and change the dogma of the early church to something other than the intended vision, then maybe people wouldn't be so suspicious. But then again...
I'm also going to go out on a limb and guess that Jesus MkII would probably be born in Israel. That would be an interesting place to be, definitely. _________________ Philosophy is the art of preparing for death. |

Haha, I wonder if he was REBORN in Israel...
Probably wouldn't survive the first few years there with the "I am Jesus" thing. _________________ Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. -The Buddha |

This is funny, because someone I know was just bringing up the topic about how if Jesus had been reincarnated into the modern world, people probably would call him crazy. Jesus was like a hippie back in the Bible times, and chances are he'd be considered a hippie now.

| I actually think that there is a medical condition or type of insanity(is there more than one type?) where you think you are the son of god, returned or first apperance. |

Ever see that episode of South Park with the superfriends.
"Now I will turn water to wine, turn around."
Anyway, it's almost certain he would be called insane. People have claimed they were jesus in the past years and they all end up in prison.
This subject also reminds me of K-Pax. _________________ Yeah, I'm in here too. |

'Tis a delusion. You can suffer from delusions for any of a number of reasons, so you really don't need to give Jesus-delusions the respect of calling them their own "type of insanity."
Further, even among delusions, there is nothing special to this particular belief. You can believe any of a number of wacky things about anyone who is famous, from Julius Caesar to David Letterman.
Long story short: people will do anything. And believe anything.
